Sugu Market is the idea of an African originating from Mali who wanted to expand the outreach of local African businesses on a global scale.  

The story of Sugu Market began due to the lack of access to African and Caribbean products in some regions of the United States. The diaspora is unevenly spread, and states with a low African population are less likely to host an African store. That particular situation leaves those people without a place nearby where they can find products from their home country.
