What is Fonio?
Fonio is a West African cereal. It is highly nutritious, high in dietary fibers, and gluten-free. Fonio is a great alternative for cereals like rice.
There are two types of fonio, the white fonio and the black fonio. This type in particular is the white fonio.
How to Prepare Fonio?
To prepare fonio, soak the fonio in warm water for 15 minutes. After soaking the fonio, the next step consists of completely draining the water then steam cook the fonio for 10 minutes.
After the steaming the fonio, your fonio is ready for consumption. You can additionally add some okra to make it tastier.
